Stock Market Simulation Essay Contest
In addition, EconomicsWisconsin hosts a statewide essay contest to help gage the students' grasp of saving and investing. Students are asked to write about the three main lessons that they have learned by participating in the Stock Market Simulation.
The essay contest is an optional component of the SMS. Teachers can use this as assignment, extra credit, and/or collaborate with English/Language Arts teachers to help students improve their writing skills.
RULES:
- Entries must be typed and double-spaced on 8½-by-11-inch paper. Please use a standard font.
- Entries should not exceed 500 words.
- Entries will be judged on organization, spelling, grammar, originality and appropriateness to essay topic.
- All entries must be postmarked by 4/6/2012.
- Entries must be submitted by an SMS Advisor. Advisors may submit no more than three entries per SMS class.
- An official entry form must be attached to each submission. Please staple entry form to the back of each entry.
AWARDS:
- First Place Junior Division: $500 savings bond, certificate, medal & recognition at the SMS Banquet
- First Place Senior Division: $500 savings bond, certificate, medal & recognition at the SMS Banquet
