Thank you for participating in the Wisconsin Stock Market Simulation! The verification process is now complete. Official results are listed below.

Congratulations to the winning teams! Winning teams will be notified by mail. Teachers will receive a banquet registration packet with dates and locations and RSVP information. Those invited to attend the banquet include:

  • Members of the 1st - 20th place teams in the junior and senior divisions
  • 1st-3rd place essay contest winners (winners will be announced week of May 19th)
  • Top five Million Dollar Challenge Teams
  • Teachers of winning teams and their guest
  • Teachers of essay contest winners and their guest
  • Principals & District Administrators of winning teams
  • Principals & District Administrators of essay contest winners

Parents are invited to attend, but we ask that they pay for their meal. Teachers are responsible for collecting and submitting payment to EconomicsWisconsin prior to the banquet. No refunds will be given. Information will be included in banquet registration packets.


Cash awards, certificates, and t-shirts will be distributed at the banquets.

If a team is unable to attend a banquet, cash awards and certificates will be mailed; however, t-shirts will only be distributed at banquets.

10 week Simulation Awards are as follows:

All students compete in a statewide competition. Awards are given to the top 20 teams in the junior division (grades K-8) and the top 20 teams in the senior division (grades 9-12) . If a team consists of students from two or more grade levels, they must compete in the division appropriate for the highest grade level (i.e. a team consisting of both 8th and 9th grade students must compete in the senior division).

 

Winning teams will receive:

  • A cash award as outlined below
  • Certificates for each student, advisor and school
  • Recognition at one of four possible awards banquets
  • T-shirts (will be distributed at the banquets and will not be mailed if a team is unable to attend.)

  • A trip to NYC for up to five team members and their advisor.

    The SMS NYC Trip is sponsored by:

    •   This trip to New York City will depart from Mitchell International Airport (Milwaukee) for the actual members of the winning team (not to exceed 5) plus its advisor.
    •  This award is limited to official participants in the Wisconsin SMS.
    •  EconomicsWisconsin reserves the right to review and approve the participation of the team's advisor or other chaperone.
    •  All participants are responsible for ground transportation to and from their homes to the airport and hotel costs if they choose to stay in Milwaukee prior to, or after, the trip.
    •  Scheduling of the specific dates for the trip is subject to seat availability on Midwest Airlines.
    •  Once ticketed, flight itinerary cannot be changed and tickets cannot be redeemed for cash.
    •  Hotel, meals and ground transportation in New York City will be provided by Robert W. Baird & Company, Inc.
    •  Liability insurance for the team and their advisor must be provided by the team's school district as Robert W. Baird & Company, Inc., Midwest Airlines and EconomicsWisconsin cannot provide such coverage and will accept no responsibility therefore.



    First, Second and Third in State (highest portfolio value in the state junior or senior):

  • Traveling trophies. (The name of the winning school is added to the list of winning teams from past Simulations. Trophies are to be kept on school grounds and must be returned to EconomicsWisoconsin at the end of the next Simulation.)

 

 

Other Competitions:

Teachers, adults, and college and technical college students may compete in a separate 10 week simulation.
Teams from the Department of Corrections can compete in our DOC SMS competition.
