6th, 7th & 8th Grade Students
June 16 to 20, 2008
12:30 to 3:30 each day

The Youth Enterprise Junior Academy will provide students the skills needed to be successful
in high school and beyond. The academy will focus on the steps students can take to become an economic success. This five day summer program introduces students to
the basics of career planning and how to save and invest for the future. They learn how our free market economy works and how to participate in it.

The YEJA meets Monday through Friday from 12:30 – 3:30 on June 16 – 20, 2008 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Business Administration Building.
How to Apply
We are seeking young people who wish to be successful academically and economically. Admission to the Youth Enterprise Junior Academy is limited and competitive. Apply now! You must currently be a 6th , 7th or 8th grade student in Milwaukee to qualify. Please complete the requested information and return it no later than April 30, 2008.

You will be notified by May 15, 2007 regarding admission. A parent orientation will be held at the
Business and Economics Academy of Milwaukee (BEAM), at 3814 West North Avenue on May 9, 2007.

Admission to the Youth Enterprise Academy is limited and competitive. Apply now!
You must currently be a 9th or 10th grade student in the Milwaukee Public Schools to
qualify. The following information must be included in your application:

7. Essay - Write a one or two paragraph essay addressing why you would like to participate in the Youth Enterprise Junior Academy . Explain why you're interested in being successful in school and in your community. Please mention any special interests you might have in business. Neatness and spelling count! Be sure to attach your essay to the application.
8. References -
Please provide us with the names
and telephone numbers of two people who can serve as references. You may wish to include a teacher or community leader who knows you .
9.Report Card - Please provide a photocopy of
a 2007-08 report card.
