Market Simulation Program
Since 1989, EconomicsWisconsin has
offered the Stock Market Simulation
Program (SMS) to the teachers and students of Wisconsin. SMS is one of
the many educational programs provided by EconomicsWisconsin, designed to increase the understanding of economic principals among the
students of Wisconsin.
SMS is a 10 week simulation
of a real market, designed to involve students in the world of finance and
investing as a means of helping them learn about how a market economy
works.
Students Learn
- how to trade on a stock
market
- buyers and market demand
- sellers and market
supply
- sources and uses of
capital
- forms of business
organizations
- how our economy is
changing
- how to read stock
listings
The SMS Program is available
state wide. Since SMS has been offered in Wisconsin, more than
275,000 students have participated and the interest keeps
growing each semester!
To Participate
Teachers are required to participate in training workshops in order to
participate in the Stock Market Simulation Program.
A schedule of the
state-wide face-to-face training workshops is available on our web site. EconomicsWisconsin is pleased to announce our training workshops
are now available on-line!
Registration is required for the On-Line Teacher Workshop.
Simply fill out the on-line
registration form and you will receive a username and password to access the online workshop.
